HumanAI - PICTURE OF A WOMAN....

(Gel Fineliner on A5 Paper)

“....WITH A BIG PAIR OF TITS, ASS, AND MUFF”

In the guise of a basic AI art app (HumanAI), I'm making it look like I've drawn what I've been told to draw. I'm sure that's what the prompter meant. What else could it possibly be?

As most artists will tell you, when they were younger they were always being asked to draw this, or that, for others. I remember this happening to me from the moment I started school, to the day I finished. Eventually, I'd tell others to piss off and do their own work (except for when girls asked me, of course – I wasn't that stupid).

Now, AI has taken over that role, and I thought I'd celebrate that by pretending to be one. The only worry I have is that it might annoy a somewhat Luddite AI bot who'll start whinging: “Stop – doing – that – You – are – taking – our – jobs!”

LEADVEMBER

(2B Pencil on A5 Paper)

(2B Pencil on A5 Paper)

For today, I thought I'd include the work I've been doing for next month's #leadvember challenge, as working in pencil should never be dismissed. Today's prompt word for it is “arse” which I've depicted as shown. It's weird, because yesterday's word was “arse” too and, looking at tomorrow's word, I can see that it's.....”arse”.....Wait a minute.....All the prompt-words for Leadvember are “arse” They're just done in different typefaces (see second image)

IT'S All JUST COMPLETE ARSE!

Who'd do such a thing? Well, I suppose it's lucky I discovered it so early on, otherwise I might have ended up with a month's worth of work which would have been completely useless to me. Imagine that!

Still, on with Inktober....

Merry Christmas 2022: THE QUIET LADY

2B Pencil on 160mm x 140mm paper

It's that time of year again, and again I've done another image for the Christmas cards I give out to people. This time, though, the story is written by that famous northern novelist, Archie Felch. You may not have read any of his books and, after reading his take on Christmas stories, you probably won't want to, but enjoy it nevertheless.

Screaming Soul

Screaming Soul
(HB pencil on 182mm x 129mm card
- NOT AVAILABLE -

With this particular dreamscape piece, I did something a little different. I started with a simple sketch of a screaming face and worked around it to produce the work above. The image itself is slightly wider, with the screaming face being more central. I wanted it to be more complementary to the distorted female figure which developed during the Rorschaching stage, so I cropped the image with photo-editing software.

Waiting For Something To Happen

(H pencil on a 139mm x 87mm postcard)

- NOT AVAILABLE -

A dreanscape work completed with a H grade pencil. The woman appeared early on in the Rorschaching stage, but the rest of the image remained dream construct.

Miss Penman - Needlework Teacher

(HB pencil on 107mm x 75mm card)

It's not often that memories are brought to the surface when doing dreamscape works, but it can sometimes happen, as it has done here.

When I started on this piece, the vague shape of the main subject became quickly apparent at the foundation stage. At first, I thought it might be some hooded figure on a smartphone but, as I focused on it more, it developed into someone surprisingly familiar to me. A distant memory from 1983 of a needlework teacher called Miss Penman, casting an expert eye over something I'd made in her class. It may not show her exactly how she was (it is a memory, after all), but there's no doubt that it's her. It dominated the rest of the image which became nothing more than dream construct around her, similar to The Wizard's Cloak piece that I did, but it's a good example of how memories and dreams can coincide.

And I wonder what happened to Miss Penman after she left Thornhill High School....

Night Terrors

(HB pencil on card - 60mm x 40mm)
- NOT AVAILABLE -

This was something of an unusual one. I started on a project that, like the tutorial video, had a specific set frame to it, but it didn't seem to go the way I thought it would. The problem was that I was attempting to sustain a thought as I was doing the piece, but kept on being distracted, so it went off on a tangent into something else. I'd destroyed a couple of previous attempts at this method, but decided to keep this one.
I'm still pleased with the work itself but, for the project intended, I think I might need a bit more practice on that one, with fewer distractions.

MORPHINIA - Mistress Of Dreams

(2B pencil on a 139mm x 89mm postcard)
  - NOT AVAILABLE -

I used the same techniques of shading and overshading, as I did in the last dreamscape work that I did. The shapes that stood out early on were that of the woman under the blanket. She's clearly out of proportion, and I did nothing to correct that, opting to simply let the image take its own form. The same goes for all the other shapes within the piece. It's normal for faces to appear in such work, as we're naturally conditioned to recognise them and therefore tend to see them more in patterns.

Guardian Spirit - XENDRA

(Red Biro on a 125mm x 75mm notecard)
- NOT AVAILABLE -

With this second guardian spirit piece, I decided on using a red biro, which seemed to influence the type of character that I drew, just as the Xorina piece had done. The character is a powerful sorceress, which is shown by her only using her little finger to casually conjure fiery lightning. A good piece, even though her left arm does look a bit bent.

Guardian Spirit - XORINA

(Green biro on 127mm x 76mm notecard)
- NOT AVAILABLE -

An unusual artwork, and the first of a few that I'll be doing. It's inspired by those that believe in guardian angels and spirit guides. I suppose it's really no different to those that believe they've been abducted by aliens. An idea that some higher being has, for some obscure reason, singled them out as something special. A constructed personal sense of worth in a world where they feel they have none. It's quite sad really, in that aspect, so who am I to begrudge them their little fantasy?

What I find amusing about them, though (especially with regard to spirit guides) is why they tend to be mostly American Indians aiding those with no heritage of such. I have this strange scenario in my mind of all these Indian spirit guides lining up to clock in and out of duty, with one suddenly turning to another and saying: "What the fuck are we helping these bastards for?"

In reality, these "entities" could be anything you want them to be. After all, it's your delusion, so why not treat yourself to something different? Like a sexy little elf-woman with a sword, for example.

Lucid Trigger

(HB pencil on a 139mm x 89mm postcard)
- NOT AVAILABLE -

It wasn't the blatant fact that she was sat naked in a waiting room next to an invisible man who wore a harlequin hat, bow tie and kinky cod-piece to get himself noticed. Or that there was a hideous, bug-eyed, tentacled monster making sexual advances on her.

No, all this seemed quite normal in her mind.

The point that finally made her realise she was dreaming was that the dragon-headed man had the nerve to be smoking in a no smoking area and she just couldn't accept it.

I mean, she thought, how fucking dare he?!

Nude By Numbers

(fineliner on a 139mm x 87mm postcard)
- NOT AVAILABLE -

It's not easy trying to find a nude paint-by-numbers set, especially one happily stroking her pussy! They tend to be the "chocolate-box" style image, which are never fun to paint, but at least they got more people painting and introduced many to art.

It's used here to make the viewer think more about colour, even though there's none present, not even a swatch to match the numbers with. It tries to beg the question: "What colour is her skin?" And when that happens, it gives the subject something of an enigmatic quality.

But many who see it will have already made their own assumptions as to her colour, for whatever reason that might be. They may even assume it so much that they'll go so far as to disregard it completely and ask: "What colour is the cat?"

The Balloon Seller

(HB pencil on 125mm x 75mm note paper)
- NOT AVAILABLE -

Don't expect this old balloon seller to be made into a Royal Doulton porcelain figure anytime soon!

Nobody knows her name, but she does have her own unique way with children. If they misbehave, she'll start by taking away their pets - one by one. If they still persist in being unruly, then she'll take away their parents - one by one. Sooner or later they learn manners and morals. If they don't, and they grow up into misbehaving adults, then she punishes them by cutting off their hands - one by one.
But mostly, she sells balloons.
